The exterior of the Essence is a beautiful combination of taut curves and complex undercuts that would prove very tricky to build, and was created to celebrate 20 years of the marque. It also packs green credentials with a 592 horsepower petrol electric hybrid powertrain.
the Essence is unfortunately not going to make it into production, but has done a great job of highlighting the undoubted talent that the designers at Infiniti possess to the world, along with showcasing the brands future styling direction.
INFINITI EX CONCEPT
The concepts more extravagant detailing such as the liquid crystal roof won’t reach production, but almost everything else will and the production version is expected to feature a 3.5 V6 engine taken from the Nissan 350Z. The EX concept was first shown at the 2007 New York Motor show.
The model sits somewhere between a traditional 4×4 SUV and a jacked up saloon car, giving good visibility alongside decent driving dynamics and not too much body roll from the lower center of gravity than a standard SUV.
INFINITI G35 COUPE CONCEPT
Infiniti has been present in the US as a competitor to Lexus and Accura, and now is looking to launch into Europe. This car previewed the model that will take the fight to competitors like the Audi A5, BMW 3 Series coupe and the Mercedes CLK. The concept was shown at the 2006 Detroit Motor Show.
INFINITI KURAZA CONCEPT
The Kuraza concept , first shown at shown at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in Detroit was Infiniti’s way of exploring the luxury Sports Utility Vehicle niche, with an outsized 4×4 that focused on giving a spacious, airy cabin full of luxuries to its occupants rather than going down the more traditional route of practicality and utility.
It has 2 sets of rear side doors, giving much better than usual access to every row of seats and extended panoramic glass sunroof, with all round window glazing and thin supporting pillars for the floating roof look, which creates in Infinit’s own words “a highly social atmosphere to share with friends”.
The front grille shows off the new Infiniti brand styling, along with the headlights, that we expect to see on all future Infiniti models.
