Scion Hako Coupe Concept by Tokyo Design Division

Scion, Toyota’s youth brand, has launched its concept at the New York Auto Show, Hako Coupe concept. At first sight, this car might look like a classic car for you, but the inside is fully futuristic. Designed by Tokyo Design Division, this Hako Coupe Concept was inspired by the American vintage among young Tokyo trendsetters, it is intended to reflect “youth-inspired trends”. As Jack Hollis (Scion vice president) says “Scion�s Hako Coupe Concept embodies a distinct global perspective on today�s youth”.

“This type of forward thinking complements the Scion philosophy of intently listening to our customers and being willing to take risks to help us see where our brand should be. We took the xB�s iconic boxy shape and explored something more vivacious, yet just as emotionally appealing. This concept is the sporty version of a box.”

Inside, the Hako is accented with orange and metallic detailing that exudes a modern environment with entertainment possibilities. The front and rear seats are covered with urethane and rubber-like upholstery for easy cleaning.

The entertainment system consists of two video monitor screens mounted on the dash for radio, video, and music capabilities. Users can upload their videos and music through a Bluetooth connection.

The shifter looks like a joystick and a track-ball controls the entertainment. Blending vintage style and a gamer’s groove, the Hako Coupe stands out.

Z.Car

Art dealer Kenny Schachter commissioned Hadid to create an original concept car. That resulting in Z.Car Project which you can see it at the Guggenheim Museum in New York soon. With 4 meters long, I think Z.Car is still in acceptable scale, and the good thing is the ergonomic and modern design makes it great city car, easy to park and environmentally friendly (renewable fuel cells). This is one possible future car that we might see in a few years.

What ‘s “Crab”? It’s the personal concept of an artistic-technologic urban vehicle designed by Andrea Filogonio for the chaotic megapolis of tomorrow. Crab’s design melts Art Noveau-inspired shapes to a real crab concept : Art Noveau for its elegance and sense of surfaces while a living crab for the freedom to move everywhere and in any direction. Moreover, its shell is very hard and protective.

Now, leap forward and apply all that we’ve just said to the megalopolis of tomorrow: very busy, but with environmental awareness, luxury accustomed, socially involved and technologically advanced. “Crab” is elegant, shiny, customizable, comfortable, and safe. A small car for all the people with three wheels drive. The cabin is suspended and cushioned by an electrical field generated in the two chassis arms. So it’s floating and not linked to the chassis, giving a soft response for better comfort. When the car is parked it’s strongly attached to the chassis.

Each wheel has its electrical engine, linked externally to the suspension, so that every engine is at the same time: engine, suspension, brake, steering. All driven by wire. The large back sphere is the main steering device when the car is moving. In the parking-mode, the little spheres on the two front wheels allow you to move perpendicularly to the road.

When needed, the same system allows you to run light off-road increasing car height, to go to the beach, for example, using 3 wheels drive. You can adjust your car height and suspension stiffness, to increase its performance. “Crab” is very small, and we know the importance of space in the city. Besides, you can decide who’s the driver without swapping your seat. The steering cloche, when the car is not moving, can shift from the left to the right.

We just got a submission from Hussien Al Jammazi, this time he has designed TENNEN electric car for daily use. Since it is meant to use in a crowded cities, this two-seater electric car has been designed with a compact body to allow its user park easily, even in limited space. If you’re wondering why there’s a dinosaur logo on each image, well, he said that he got the inspiration from fire-attributed dinosaurs when he designed the body of this car.

Pod single-seat urban vehicle is not just ordinary transportation, it offers a system that tries to solve the problems of urban mobility. The system is based in a fixed rental contract where the user has the right to use the automobile in certain hours according to what is established in the contract. Designed by Angel Sánchez Vargas, these vehicles are available in recharge centers where they can be picked up. It is focused to people (being students, professionals, etc.) that require to move in certain hours to specific places.

Pod single-seat urban vehicle is a compact vehicle operated through electric engines on each wheel. The battery area and trunk are located behind the seat. The design is simple and aerodynamic reducing .The big wheels and system ensures the user to have a relaxed and soft ride.
