The concept, created as a full-scale model, stems from the desire to test the skills of young designers and find out their vision of the future: hence the choice of the Institute to look beyond the traditional car makers combined with a reality that is synonymous with innovation. Tesla is in fact a company that produces a 100% electric car, the green heart of which dovetails neatly with attractive design, sporty performance and maximum driving pleasure.
EYE derives from research on the identity of Tesla to meet a new goal: to design a Everyday 2 +2 sports car set to become a status-symbol, a car whose features captivating and sporty performance that addresses accomplice an affordable price, to target young, cosmopolitan, still connected with the world through the net and digital technologies.
EYE is the work of the eleven students of the Master, coordinated by Luca Borgogno, Senior designer Pininfarina and Andrea Militello, Senior designer FIAT. Essential throughout the process, the supervision of Franz von HolzhausenChief Designer of Tesla Motors.
Eye was made possible thanks to the collaboration of: Pirelli, OZ Racing.
Besides the full-scale model, IED Turin present within the stand two concept cars in 1:4 scale designed by the students of three-year course in Transportation Design – car design a.a. 08/09. The jeep Pygmy of Vasiliy Kurkova, Student of II year Fiat looks to the future of Chrysler and, in light of the recent agreement, imagine how to combine the technical know-how, platforms and values of the two brands in a car that was based on the Fiat Panda Cross 4×4.
